Kwara: Over 1500 to sit for 2018 promotion exams next week

Not fewer than 1500 civil servants will next week sit for the 2018 promotion examination which will be conducted by the state Civil Service Commission.

The Press Secretary  of the commission, Mrs. Muritala Bukola Shakirat in a press release made available to The Herald yesterday disclosed that the promotion examination which is for civil servants in the state ministries, departments and other agencies of the government will start on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 and end on Thursday, May 24, 2018.

The PRO further stated that the examination will take place at the Staff Development College, Ilorin by 9am on each day.

The release quoted the chairman of the commission, Alhaji Salman Adelodun Ibrahim as saying that the proposed promotion examination is aimed at motivating and uplifting deserving civil servants in the state in line with the vision of the present administration of the state governor, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed.

“According to the Chairman over one thousand five hundred civil servants are eligible for this year’s promotion exercise across all MDA’s in the state. The chairman however warns that the commission will not reschedule or organize any make-up examination for any eligible civil servants who may for any reason miss the examination,” the PRO said.

The PRO further stated that officers on grade level 07 to 09 will sit for their examinations on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 while officers on grade level 10 to 13 will take theirs on May 23, 2018 while Officers on grade level 14 to 16 will sit for their promotion examination on May 24, 2018.

While urging civil servants to note the schedule date of the examination, the commission enjoined all affected civil servants in the state to report at the examination centre, at least, one hour before the commencement of the examination with their examination slips, staff ID cards and writing materials only.
