…Army flushes criminals out of Baruten forest

The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has issued a stern warning to gangsters and other criminal elements to get out and stay away from the State.
He also said there would be zero tolerance for any killer gangs in any part of Nigeria’s State of Harmony.
“The Governor warns that while the state government welcomes every Nigerian who wishes to make a decent living in Kwara, there would be zero tolerance for any individual or group of individuals to make life unbearable for others,” AbdulRazaq said in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye.
Meanwhile, men of the Nigerian Army have flushed out suspected criminal elements, who reportedly camped themselves in a forest in Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State.
They were said to have come and settled in the forest from a neighbouring state.
The Herald reports that the state government mobilised security personnel to the forest in Baruten local government area, who dislodged the criminal gang.
“This comes as government mobilised security agencies to Baruten local government to dislodge a group of suspected criminals, who reportedly came from a neighbouring state and camped in a forest in Baruten local government area.
“The government’s proactive steps have resulted in the immediate dislodgement of the suspected criminals. The government commends the Nigerian Army for helping to rid the area of the suspected criminals.
“Members of the public are urged to be vigilant and to always volunteer information in record time to continue to keep Kwara safe,” the statement added.
