The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, (rtd), has ordered the cancellation of all procurement and tender processes by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) since the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Worika, informed vide a statement that the Sole Administrator hinged the decision on adherence to the Supreme Court judgement upholding the Appeal Court ruling in Suit No. CA/ABJ/CV/133/2024 and in the absence of an Appropriation Law in the State.
He directed all MDAs that carried out such tender processes for projects to ensure the refund of such tender fees to the affected contractors while awaiting approval of a spending plan by the State.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had recently declared a State of Emergency in Rivers State and paced Governor Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and members of the State Assembly on suspension for six months.
theheraldnews.ng recalls that last week, Ibas had also sacked all appointees hired under the suspended Governor’s administration.
