The Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has expressed sadness over the death of a prominent APC leader, second Republic lawmaker, and a fine progressive, Chief Wole Oke.
The septuagenarian, who was Jagunmolu of Shao in Moro Local Government Area of the State and member of the APC Elders’ Council, died in the early hours of Sunday.
Governor AbdulRazaq described the Jagunmolu as a great statesman and community leader who peacefully pursued his causes with superior arguments and personal conviction.
“He will be sorely missed. He was a courageous, yet calm man who spoke truth to power. He was a forthright and blunt man whose position on issues is always clear,” the Governor said in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary Rafiu Ajakaye.
The Governor also commiserated with the Ohoro of Shao, the entire community, the family of the deceased, and members and leaders of the APC in Moro Local Government and Kwara State.
The Governor asked God to give comfort to his family and to everyone who is mourning because of the demise of the late statesman.
