Thomas Adewumi University (TAU), Oko-Irese in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State has announced the appointment of Mr. Fisoye Opemipo Kolawole as substantive Registrar of the high-flying institution.
The appointment, a statement made available to theheraldnews.ng informed, was approved by the Governing Council of Thomas Adewumi University during a meeting held on 14th March 2025.
According to the statement, Kolawole had served as acting Registrar from May 2024 till the time of this substantive appointment.
“Mr Kolawole Fisoye Opemipo is an accomplished university administrator with extensive experience in higher education management. With a career spanning over a decade, he has excelled in university governance, admissions, examinations, academic records management, and institutional policy implementation.
“He holds a Master of Science in Business Administration (2019) and a Bachelor of Agriculture in Animal Science and Fisheries Management (2011), both from Bowen University, Iwo. He is also a member of several professional bodies, including the Association of Nigerian Universities Professional Administrators (ANUPA), the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), and the Institute of Professional Managers and Administrators of Nigeria (IPMA).

“Prior to joining Thomas Adewumi University, he held key administrative positions in higher institutions. He served as Senior Assistant Registrar at First Technical University, Ibadan, where he was Personal Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor, and as Assistant Registrar at Bowen University, Iwo, where he oversaw admissions, regulatory compliance, and student records. He has also played a significant role in university governance, serving as Secretary to Principal Officers, Management, and various institutional committees,” the statement added.
Besides, the management of the University explained that several other outstanding qualities and achievements that stood him in good stead for the latest appointment include: dedication to institutional development, outstanding administrative expertise, and ability to drive transformational change.
Other qualities cited include, outstanding contribution to Student Enrolment and Growth; successful transition to a paperless administration; reorganization and strengthening of administrative structures; institutional policy development and regulatory compliance; effective stakeholder engagement and inter-departmental coordination; digital transformation and technological innovation; and ethical leadership and institutional integrity.
The University authorities expressed confidence that his leadership as Registrar will continue to drive the advancement of Thomas Adewumi University and justify his appointment as the substantive Registrar.
